Mission Istaanbul - Music Review

Apoorva lakhia had great results with Shootout at Lokhandwala, not only the movie, but music also topped the charts. After miserable failure of Dus Kahaaniyaan, Lakhia is back to his action genre, as he is back with Mission Istaanbul. The music is handled by multiple composers Anu Malik, along with Shamir Tandon, Chirantan Bhatt and Mika Singh, like he did in SAL.

World Hold On World Hold On: Kunal, Gayatri and Raj opens the album with a track which gives you a fair idea about the movie. It seems like Maria Maria from  Partner. Not anything special, but is not a very bad on either. But it promises nothing to deliver. You might skip it and look for better. Remix version seems OK as well.

Mission Mission: Our dear friend wrote this at IndiaFM:
"There is added fun in the offering with the arrival of the title song 'Mission Mission'. "
Hey, i would say, as Hamza Faruqi sings in the song, Bullshit. The way thay sings really makes you step out of the party. This track is called to be a title track, and for me, it is the most disgraceful one, and i would simply liked to skip the track as it started. There isn't anything good till the end of the title song.

Jo Gumshuda: Shaan - Mahalakshmi pair does their job, and this is a typical Anu Malik track. The track's beginning creates a mood of '90's when Anu Malik was one of the leading musicians. Now i can't really hope that people might still enjoy old wine in this new bottle. This seems to survive, and seems to have traces of Kaho na Kaho from Murder. It is not great, but a good track. Remix version is also good.

Nobody Like you: Neeraj Shreedhar, Anoushka comes with the 3rd track. It is nothing exceptional, but seems like this one might survive in standalone as well, and this might do well in clubs and parties. Good western amalgamation and this might be well tailored into the movie. Another Good track comes by the way. Remix seems to have nothing special.

Yaar Mera Dildaara: This is too much. Now they had started to become copycats as well. This is almost a carbon copy of Mehboob Mere [Fiza] and still couldn't even get anywhere near the original. The track is a must skip, who heard Mehboob Mere, you will surely get annoyed to see them copy a hit number. The interesting thing is that Sunidhi sang both of them - the difference is that they stuffed Javed Ali at the start and middle. Gosh.

Apun ke Saath: The last track comes with an attempt to recreate the Ae Ganpat (Shootout at Lokhandwala) mood, with Mika and Pretty. I thought this might fit into the Title slot. Nothing too much, still it was a bit successful, atleast you can hear it until the last second without any fast forwarding. The best of the album, but nothing exceptional.

Verdict: Despite a few enjoyable moments, Mission Istaanbul has nothing in it to survive as a standalone music album. Lakhia probably made bad choice this time, and to be frank, Mission Istaanbul is a must avoid album, or else you would just loose some money for buying such a worthless crap. Seems Poor.
